Open Research Data and Open Peer Review: Perceptions of a Medical and Health Sciences Community in Greece

Recently significant initiatives have been launched for the dissemination of Open Access as part Science movement. Nevertheless, two other major pillars such Research Data (ORD) and Peer Review (OPR) are still in an early stage development among communities researchers stakeholders. The present study sought to unveil perceptions a medical health sciences community about these issues. Through investigation researchers‘ attitudes, valuable conclusions can be drawn, especially field medicine sciences, where explosive growth scientific publishing exists. A quantitative survey was conducted based on structured questionnaire, with 179 valid responses. participants agreed principles. However, they ignored basic terms like FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) appeared incentivized permit exploitation their data. Regarding (OPR), expressed agreement, implying support trustworthy evaluation system. Conclusively, need receive proper training both principles processes which combined reformed system will enable them take full advantage opportunities that arise from new scholarly communication landscape.
